Mission Statement: The mission of the Planning & Zoning Department is to improve the quality of life for community residents by encouraging the orderly growth and development of the City based on recognized land use practices and principles. Assist elected and appointed officials by providing high quality professional planning service and support staff for all land use and development decisions.

Services Provided, People Serviced: The Department is responsible for several functions, including the administration of subdivision and land use regulations, zoning administration, architectural review, special studies, project management for selected planning activities, issuance of building permits and building inspections, map production, using geographical information system technology, staking, data collection, utility locates, preparing sewer, water, and street plans, and new sidewalk compliance and repair.
